Meet the Visionaries behind Ushoroba
Every great journey begins with a spark of inspiration and for us, that spark came from a deep love for adventure, culture, and the untouched beauty of our home, Tanzania.
We grew up together as childhood friends, exploring Tanzania’s wild landscapes, and we dreamed of creating something meaningful – an invitation for others to feel the same sense of wonder that shaped our lives.
The name Ushoroba, meaning “wildlife corridor” in Swahili, sits at the heart of everything we do. Wildlife corridors are the lifelines of nature – pathways that allow animals to move freely between ecosystems and keep the wild in balance. For us, it’s also a reminder that travel should flow in the same way – gently connecting people, places, and cultures with respect and care for what makes them special.
With our combined backgrounds in tourism, sustainability and community work, we built Ushoroba on simple values: respect for nature, genuine human connection, and travel that gives back.
Today, we stay true to that spirit by welcoming every guest not just as a visitor, but as part of a shared journey through our Tanzania.

Erick Lyimo, a proud member of the Chagga community, brings a unique perspective rooted in his upbringing on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. His deep knowledge of Tanzania’s landscapes and cultures, paired with his passion for sustainable tourism, shapes Ushoroba’s vision of responsible travel.

I study tourism because it allows me to understand how travel, leisure and hospitality contribute to cultural exchange, sustainability and memorable experiences for people around the world.
